I have recently become intrigued by Scotch Whisky. I recently visited the Raasay distillery which kicked off the interest and have since sampled a few drams. This has led me to the realisation that my tastes seem to lie in the Islay flavours, although Talisker 10 year old is something I often reach for, with it’s sea salt tang along with that delicious smoke.

Anyway, enough rambling. I was wondering if anyone might’ve been gifted any Scotch that perhaps isn’t really your thing? Perhaps a bottle you’ve bought which doesn’t quite suit your palate? If you’ve Scotch going spare, I might well be interested in taking it off your hands!

I've bought a couple of bottles off here. Johnny Walker Blue label, if anyone has a bottle Im interested.
Sorry for butting in.

We have in the cupboard an unopened bottle of Johnny Walker premium something or other.

Over 40 years old 🤣.

It came from the wife's grandads house,

Its the standing joke, if ever we get really desperate.

Having the same taste as you I've none 'lying about' but both Lidl & Aldi do their own Islay Malt whiskies and both are very palattable for a lot less than the big brands.

Lot 31 is from mums house, she’s recently moved, aged 92! and we’ve cleared some stuff out.

If you like peaty and Smokey but not too much of each, then try this. Am just sat enjoying a glass as I type this. Very drinkable.

I’ve just recently bought a 12 year old single malt from Glenturret Distillery near Crief, Perthshire for a good friend who also happens to be a member on here. I’m awaiting an appraisal on it as we speak. 🙂

Talisker dark storm is a lovely whisky. For me it’s much nicer than Talisker 10 yr old but it does cost more. Special treat whisky.
The lidi single malt Islay - Ben bracken is good for the price. Everyday whisky.

The best bang for buck single malt you can buy is Highland Park 10. Smokey with peat but not overpowering like Laphroaig. It’s an Orkney whisky so a decent mix.

If you want to spend some money go for Lagavulin 16. It’ll knock your socks off!!

I’ve a few bottles of special Highland Parks that I’m willing to part ways with if you’re interested 👍🏻

Oh sorry to late, you could of had this and saved me from my self ,

Don’t waste time. Go straight for one of these.

My kids were kind to me for my big birthday this year.

ps - there aren’t many/any bad ones 🥃

I live just up the road from Dalmore, the new owners are spending millions on new stills. They have banned locals from the visitors centre. All done from Glasgow now, so no Distillery specials now all sold via Harrods.
I've a few bottles, but its getting too expensive for a daily dram. Got a 21 year old last year at the airport for just over £400
