I've got a full width radiator, and no over heating problems at all.

If you do it, or even replace with a standard unit, cover up the holes in the back of the front fender to stop the replacement filling up with crud.

I'm also running a unifilter main and pre-filter, which requires the top of the air box to be removed, coupled with the remus header i now have fitted, the bike now goes like wylie coyote's acme rocket

Not tried the Lambda mod yet, but from what i understand, it is supposed to put the ECU into a default map, which generally runs the engine about 10% richer on fueling.

Definitely remove the sidestand switch. Mine failed miles from anywhere, and it took a while to diagnose

Still sup prised how easy to work on this bike is, but any twat can take something apart lets hope theres no getting it back together.....

Good luck with the rebuild mate looks like fun, I tried a Karoo rear tire on mine and hated the lack of grip on mud took it straight off and just use my old comp 3 or 6 days tyres after the exc has had best out of them , I also run an enduro front tyre but most of my riding is off road , they ride ok on road sections the rears soon get worn down , mt21 s I think would give you grip off road and last pretty well on road but are expensive
Have you swapped the standard gear lever for a bendy one?
Really like mine and love riding it , just entered the sweetlamb rallymoto on it
Look forward to abit more laning when she's back together

While you have it that far apart, make sure you strip and grease the swing arm bearings if you haven't already done so.

How times fly!

I Cant beleve its been two year since i purchased that like a good woman its got better with age and I'm in a fully monogamous relationship with it.

Starting to look and perform like the bike i really wanted (but nobody made)

Lost count of the hours and money thats gone into it

I dont like to use the word pride but i certainly feel a sense of achievement when i open the garage door

I told you it would be used one day! getting one now (for that money) is becoming a no chance scenario.


Glade you like it, a little different to when you saw it in spain that trip really inspired me (and spanner monkey mikeyboy) to use the winter to get the job done. Still a little work to do, (rear shock is on route) put 20 ltrs of fuel in need to see if transfers seamlessly my guess is 280miles??

The arrangement there you have when full should give you a range of over 320 miles.......

It's a tony archer 'special' not made my mind up about it yet. Have done 100mile 2 1/2 hour with out a numb arse but it seems to tip/push me forward, crushing my balls. But had plenty bikes that do that! No extra height, guess it Needs more testing.

Thanks for that info, my X country std. Seat pushed me forward towards the tank, I was going to send my seat off to Tony Archer next week and this has focused my mind on what improvements I need/should ask for.

Don't get me wrong on the whole and considering the price it's a fantastic remake. I just need more time to adjust for a full appraisal. Worst case scenario i will get it re levelled. Ian
