Fitted these today to carry my wet weather gear when out on the hills. Could be used for touring possibly? Cost about £9 for the pair delivered and they're ex army but perfectly useable.

Why don't you put waterproofs in top box or cargo net them to back seat?

I have to take a weekend's worth of dry clothes/food etc in the top box and didn't really think about it too much. Last time I carried stuff on the pillion seat I nearly knocked the bike over, what with being a short arse

:D Don't suffer in that way myself! Sounds like a good idea in your case then, I just tend to use cargo net on rear seat, or take seat off even better...

The other benefit is that I just sling one of the bags on my back to carry my flask, sandwiches and map:)

Look good but think you have to paint the bike khaki to match :D what are they and where did you get them

My version... Army gas mask bags, great for stoves, fuel, keeping your knees dry...
