Hi all,
Selling my 2018 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports CRF1000L DCT.
Bike is in very good condition, everything works as it should. The DCT gearbox is very responsive and does its job very nicely.
21000 miles on the clock, which for a Honda like this is barely run in! (Not that BMWs aren't long-legged as well!) Has been well looked after by myself and the previous owners. The last owner used it mainly for long road trips once per year, with a service performed beforehand, and it has been garaged to my knowledge all of its life (certainly by myself and the last owner).
I have owned the bike since October last year, and have done around 2500 miles on it, most of which was a trip around Northern Spain, with my Dad on his BMW 800GS (Plenty of good GoPro footage taken, YouTube videos to come). The bike never missed a beat for the whole trip, it really performed brilliantly. (In fairness so did the F800GS...)
The bike is currently sporting a set of Bridgestone AX41 tyres, which work very nicely on gravel and on tarmac, I've been quite impressed with these tyres. These were fitted in April, the bike has done just under 2000 miles since so they should have a good amount of life left in them.
Oil and filter was last changed in May, and it all came out nice and clean.
The bike will have a full 12 months MOT on it for sale, currently arranging for it to be tested in the next few days.
I've added a few extras onto the bike since owning it:
- The OEM plastic engine guard (included) was replaced with a much heftier aluminium plate from AS3
- Fitted Hepco and Becker lower crash bars and a Hepco and Becker stiffening brace for the Honda upper crash bars.
- Upgraded the original footpegs (included) to the Honda rally footpegs, which make standing up much more comfortable and grippy.
- I managed to acquire a rare set of original new-in-box Honda aluminium luggage with frames. These are beautifully made aluminium panniers, made by Touratech in Germany but Honda branded. These have been keyed to work on the ignition key, so one key does everything.
- Givi top box rack with aluminium Monokey plate
- Strengthening brace for the screen bracket, as these are apparently known to be a weak point
- CRF1100 magnetic tank bag. Fits the same as the CRF1000 bag but is much nicer looking and completely waterproof so no problem if it rains
Any questions of course feel free to ask.
Located just south of Bristol. Happy to work with couriers via Shiply etc if you're a long way away.
A quick virtual test-ride and look-around can be seen on YouTube here:
Looking for £6800 but happy to entertain reasonable offers etc. I also have the original plastic panniers which I intend to sell separately, but could do a deal with those if someone wants them.
Cheers,
Alex
