Hi, anybody every try?
http://www.biketobike.co.uk/cobra600.htm

I'm wondering if i would be just wasting my money.

We'll been close enough and most of the time speed will be sub 50mph, only need it for a week in Spain.

I'd be interested if anyone has gone down this route.

ta,

I half tried it...

Hi Liam,
Yeah, I bought similar kit myself. That is, I bought the headset described, and took a guess on the right connectors for a pair of BT radios I have. Guess what? The PTT (Push to talk) doesn't work! So I checked, and the connectors should work with Cobra radios. So I got a pair from eBay. And they are also the wrong type to ft my headset.

The only useful thing I can say is that the earphones are a bit thick. I have a Shoei XR1000 and a Caberg J1. They fit (just) in the Shoei and not at all in the Caberg. It has no spaces in the padding for ears. I might add that just fiddling around at home I found the earphones uncomfortable in my helmet. Can't imagine using them on a long journey.

Shame, as it had the potential to be a really nice, cheap comms solution!

Nigel.

Lidls of all places will be doing a PMR intercom kit this week for £25. I'm assuming that's for one radio/mike/speaker set. I can't vouch for quality but their other bike stuff has been OK, you can at least have a look before you buy. :thumb2

A friend and i tried some PMR radios with headsets and we found they are pretty usless above 30MPH, so if anyone is thinking of going down this route for bike comms, don't bother.

Liam,

One of the key things in this sort of set up is the mic's, if there a normal condensing mic they'll pick up every noise about, thats why comm's companys use noise cancelling mic's.

theres a reason for quality comm's being the price they are and unfortunatly there not really and way round it, unless you know what your doing with electronic even then it's time consuming
