Lubing the sidestand on my '99 1150, and happened to take a look at the springs-turned out the lower hook on one of them had work-hardened and almost worn through, and snapped off as soon as I took it off. Glad I looked, the remaining spring isn't strong enough to hold the stand up reliably...
