On the way home from work I had a disagreement with a traffic island and mounted the kerb at around 20-30 mph, I did think oh sh1t, but the bike coped fine and I went up and back down without too much drama. Checked out the bike at the side of the road (nighttime) and all seemed fine, bike road OK, esa still worked fine and no warnings from the pressure sensors. Road home another 50 miles, upto motorway speeds no issue. Checked the bike out the next day and I have a large dent in the rim, the tyre is not losing any pressure. I am getting the rim sorted , but want. To know if there is any simple way to check if the forks /telelever are fine. I've tried spinning the front wheel and it rotates freely as does the steering, nothing is lose or looks damaged. Advice please.

Fork slider tubes bend very easily, front tele lever wishbone also damages in a front end smack. If you can use a straight edge such as an engineers steel rule you can check sliders. Visually inspect wishbone and front subframe for damage. Feel for front end play by jacking under the sump bash plate with bike on the centre stand until suspension unloads.

Hopefully the impact damage was absorbed by deforming the front rim and nothing else is damaged.

I did a similar thing on an 1150, seemed ok but got it checked out and forks and telelever bent:blast

Many thanks, jacked the bike up, nothing looks out of place or damaged. Tried a straight edge as best I can and nothing looks wrong. New wheel is being fitted this week so will ask the garage to check as shell without the wheel and axle acting as a clamp.

Take the forks out and measure properly. You'll also get chance to clean & paint areas normally out of reach.
