This is thee second item listed for a neighbours family, unfortunately Brian passed away prematurely and I’ve offered to offer his bike which is listed separately and his van.

I don’t know much about these vans but this one is a real head turner and it’s got the proper yank growl when it drives by. Brian was a proper engineer and as far as I know only did things one way - properly.

If you’re considering a special camper then you need to take a look at this one, the photos really don’t do it justice, as far as I know it has a full stainless exhaust and 4 almost new tyres and a diesel heater - it sleeps 2.

The family are looking for around £3k for it complete with awning, I’ll let the pictures do the talking but if you’re interested PM me and I’ll put you in touch with the family.

Sorry to hear this.

This is an amazing deal in my opinion.

If someone wanted my 1990 Astro tintop, panel van it would take more than double what is being asked. Seriously.

Simple maths: * Find one in America $3-6k
Import and put on your driveway $3k *note $$$’s

Even a shitter camper with no extras will cost you £5k landed.

Yes you will find a “cheaper” one. But unlikely to be this van.

Think of what your lycra kit and a bicycle would cost.

These run a 4.3 liter V6 automatic (mostly)

Their footprint is similar to a short Transit/Vivaro so actually very manageable on UK roads.

My van got its MOT for 2025 this week.

Video of what they sound like. Actually quite civilised. This camper will be quieter.

I doubt this will be around very long.

Get it bought.

@sparkplug has been around mine and could put size into perspective for anyone needing to understand it.

Size perspective

Hope this is helpful

I sent a PM before 5am this morning asking if it was a V8 if it was I would have had it without any other considerations but if they are all V6s it would not be for me im afraid, love a V8 !!

There are V8’s out there. Mostly aftermarket conversions

I am sure you know your V8’s and for many it is all they want.

I have had a few V8’s

This is my second 4.3 V6

The exhaust makes a big difference and many (maybe uninformed) have thought mine is an 8.

You may be surprised at these.

What is the interior headroom like? I'm assuming it's a petrol V6.
I think there is a rear facing video of me driving mine on my channel.

I am a 29” inner leg, long torso 6’ guy.

Comfort and fit for me is easy.

I may try get a pic of me in it for you in a bit.

Not sure that is helpful

I was thinking more the headroom in the living area 👍Can you stand up in it. I don't imagine you can at 6ft 😁

Wow!

It's definitely 'priced to sell'.

Headroom? It's better than a VW transporter / caravelle type van, but not quite standing room.

The engine burble is lovely - not too much but a great noise. You could drive all day without it getting on your nerves.

Some nice touches from the pics. Proper battery boxes and from what you can see of the cables it does look like they've been installed with care.

Looks like a 30-40 lit compressor fridge (possibly freezer) but I don't recognise the triangle logo and can't read it from the photo and the diesel heater outlet looks like the Eberspacher one rather than the cheap Chinese ones (could be wrong of course).

There's possibly £1600 in batteries, fridge and heater alone in terms of 'new' cost. Depends on what they all are of course. It could be as low as £600 - but these details might help you push the price up.

I appreciate that sometimes in these situations getting rid of stuff is sometimes more important than how much money you get for it, but I'd agree that there's more money to be had here if it's wanted.

To add, Goodyear tyres not ditchfinders and a very impressive MOT history. No idea about value other than to say it seems great

Those wheels alone would be £1k plus I suspect

Add in the camping stuff and you really are getting a free van.

And its a pretty one too.

I can tell he did things properly just from a glance - he used double-pole MCB in the mains wiring to protect both live and neutral, most folk just use domestic single pole items.

I now know this is a V6 but with the exhaust he’s fitted it sounds very very nice as it burbles past , I’ve been in the motor trade all my life and would have put money on it being a V8.

@Daffy I really do hope people don’t start price chipping here.

In cases like this, buyers often try kick the widow (or widower) while they are down.

I recently was interested in a Ford Econoline van, the next size up from an Astro and had to walk away because it was too wide for my drive.

I heard subsequently someone had paid less than half of what I was prepared to pay and under a third of what I believed it could make on a decent day.

This seems to be an amazing deal for someone.

As an update, it’s ULEZ compliant with the V6 engine as well as a stainless exhaust, diesel heater, new 12v tv, 12v cold box.sink..tap electric pump .240 v hook up.x2 leisure batteries.

Correct.

Also, I bet you it has a Freeflow system like Flowmaster or something similar fitted.

A 2.5” stainless system works great for this.

They are actually a 350 cubic inch V8 minus two pots.

A very civilised vehicle.
