Chin Straps?

Well not really a chip strap, more of a cover for the helmet strap that goes under yer chin, can you buy such a item?

For some unknown reason, the strap on my Arai Tour-X has started to irritate me under the neck? My short term cure at the moment is to wear a neck tube, but can you buy a type of cloth sleeve or material band that slips over the helmet strap to prevent such chaffing?

The open face helmet made by 'Yes' and sold by Sparco hace a red flap of material which goes under the chin before the chin strap is fastened. When I bought mine a while ago, I cut mine off as it irritated me. These helmets are popular with the rally crowd.

Arai are extremely good with after-sales support. If you ask them nicely, they will probably put a new strap on foc. You will, however, have to send your helmet to their workshop on Stoke to get this done.

BTBR - you could try some tubular bandage such as the stuff designed for fingers...

It should have sufficient elasticity and softness. Just a thought.

Suffering from tender neck skin meself; I have been using a silk scarf for years, wrapped around the chin in bank robber style. Warm and non-irritant.

Try an outdoor type shop; see if they sell canoe/pot-holing helmets, some have neoprene chin straps.
