Chinese Rukka

..... but it pisses me off that Rukka are charging a premium price for a product not made where I would expect it to be made.
....

How can any vendor/manufacturer be expected to supply "What you expect"? You made an assumption which was wrong.

Delighted with my Aerostich roadcrafter. I've nearly forgotten how much it hurt buying a tailor-made suit but you can't beat the quality and I don't mind having a tiny stars and stripes patch "made in the USA" stitched on the back

Not all aerostitch are made in USA. They've outsourced a few garments to a cheaper country of production. The AD1 is one such product.

Many triumph motorbikes are made in their plant in Thailand. Probably more than what comes out of the UK plant.

Globalisation.

We can still produce the best bullshit though. :D

with globalisation the nearest one can get is assembled rather than made. Very few factories now have raw meterials as iron ore for example going in one door and a finished product as a retail item going out the other door. Does a carpet factory buy in fleeces freshly shorn? No they buy in yarn or wool in balls from another factory. JJH

Rukka has certainly gone downhill in quality terms in recent years

Good job it has a 5 year guarantee, because a few I know wearing it, have had to use it a few times

My original Rukka has made in Finland labels and it's still perfect

Hunters wellies are now made in china.

And boy oh boy, even on something as simple as a welly has the quality suffered.

Mind you Rukka can afford to be generous on the guarantee seeing as the suits that used to cost them a lot to make are now a fraction of the cost from china but still selling at the same retail price. :augie

Whare is goretex made?

Textiles lamination is Livingston Scotland in a state of the art factory. They used to do rigid eg woven fabrics here. Knitted fabrics used in some cycle gear was manufactured in Germany.

i repair pratt and whitney engines,

"pride of amera" "dependable power" all used in military engines.

guess what none made in america. all stamed, made in china, made in belgium etc.

funny when they ban china nationals from working for them but glad to let them make the parts but cant directly be employed.

still most bike gear i have found is nto worth the money and still trying see what my new suit will be

rukka was on plate but for cost i feel too many members with issues to pay that amount

this is the model for many, it is a matter of economics. If 1 in 10 jackets come back they are probably still earn massive profits on the 9 sold that dont return.

yeah, and my swish new Patagonia snowboard jacket is not made in Patagonia either

the dirty geo-fibbing bastards
