choke cable playing up?

well so is mine!! checked out the easy end, do not like the look of the box it disappears into, anyone help with ideas to try before going for the big one??

As your profile shows 1100Gs, I suppose that's the bike in question?

Took some advice today (as it happens) on that very subject.

Advice is don't bother if the problem is that the lever won't return to the closed position.

It it sticks, close the throttle momentarily and the choke will return to the closed position.

Apparently "they all do that sir!"
 
Hi Mike thats interesting,I hardly ever use the choke but noticed the problem some time ago and never bothered to look into it at the time!
my concern was that maybe it meant that bike could be running a bit rich,although with a bit of fiddling the cable would appear to "snap back" into place, yet another idiosyncracy of the bwm!!!!!!!

don't worry, it's not a choke & it makes no difference to the mixture. it's just a fast idle adjustment.
