Mrs. C likes this one - bit classier than a horse outside but very N American; The Limerick horse has more cultural resonances that I can relate to.

An old fashioned boy.

That must be a few years old now. I wonder how old she is now?
I'm a bit of a stick in the mud but my Christmas doesn't start 'til I finish work on Christmas eve. That's when I put up the decorations and relax. They stay up until little Christmas too unlike quite a few houses around here that dump the tree before new year. Of course all the lovely Christmas ads have dried up before that too but I suppose there's no point in trying to sell stuff after the "event".
Anyhow my favourite is an ad for the ESB (I'm not sure it was specifically a Christmas ad but it seemed to play a lot around the time of year) of a young lad going home to the country and his Mammy putting on his electric blanket. The music was Elkie Brooks' "going back".

It is very old; the wee girl is about the same age if not a little older as my youngest - mid twenties or more - she used to claim it was her on the ad.

Here's your ad - I like it also - phone boxes on the side of country roads a thing of the past?
