Hello all,
I'm booked in with SBW motorad for next Tuesday to have circlips installed. To save me the petrol money, does anyone know the size required and where to source them?

Gawd bless you.
Cheers,
Bob :beerjug:

if you do a search on this site, one person recommended a bolt with a smooth shaft but threaded at the very end. Changed mine and never looked back!

If someone can give me the groove diameter I can order the clip to suit.

Heres hoping!
Cheers,
Bob

I would be for changing the pin set up to a plain shank bolt and nyloc nut, i had a pin fall out yesterday only noticed it while cleaning the bike afterwards, gone for the bolts thinking it is safer than the pin and circlip, as the pin may fall out at speed on the motorway, better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the input.

Just to let you know that SBW Motorad replaced the clips this morning under a warranty claim.

Job Jobbed!

Cheers,

Bob

The first thing I do to all the circlips on my bike is rotate them, so that the gap is at the bottom, rather than the top or the side. Haven't lost one yet.;)

If these ones go 'nipple up' I will go the bolt method :beerjug:

I have just lost both of my pins whilst on holiday in riding down a road in France had to tide rap the screen back on place not very good for a BMW

I once had a number plate bolt drop out and repaired it temporarily with a drinking straw I found in the lay bye!

Put a blob of superglue or a nicely applied smear of clear silicon sealant and those circlips are goin nowhere.
cost ya 2p.

yup. I do the same as well to the circlips that hold the footpegs' pivots.

windscreen coming loose is one thing. Footpegs coming loose is quite another
