Looking at purchasing a Garmin 60csx (first gps). The website states that this - "microSD/SD data card, City Navigator NT, Europe " is available for it.

Now, my question is - how detailed is the UK map detail, I'd like A,B and unclassified roads, not just cities, ie. wee roads (tarmac) in Scotland which may not have a number, but are a hoot tae ride:oonyack

Thanks folks:beerjug:

Thanks for that John, would be nice if they could define 'full coverage' though...

Aye, it's got them. almost all the small tarmac roads are there. There are one or two unsealed roads listed, but not many, these sometimes catch people out in comedy fashion.

I've just got a 60 csx and the micro sd city nav Europe card. The questions are:

1) If I try and add world map etc to the card that has CN on it, does it wipe the data off just like on a 2610 / SP3 etc?

2) Is there any way to transfer the CN onto a 2nd card along with world map etc without getting problems from unlocked maps etc that seems to happen if you try it using windows :augie

A1) Yes, if you load new maps it defaults to wiping any maps already on the cards. To get round this you have to select all the maps you wnat on the card and load them in one go.

A2) I'm not sure what you are asking here. Are you asking if you can use maps you haven't paid for? If so, the answer to that is also yes. There is plenty of info on the web about how to do this.

Jon.

Jon.

Bought and paid for the Garmin card with CN on. Also have a 4gb card and it would be nice to be able to put CN and world map onto the same card, with lots of space for the track log.

Ahh, I understand now. I've no experience of buying Garmin's SD card products so I'm not sure, but it should be possible. If I were in your situation I would download the DVD of CN and the unlock hack to make it work. As you have already bought the card form Garmin once I would have a clear conscience.

However, I think that the 60csx can only handle up to 2Gb cards? I haven't tried any larger in mine. If your 4Gb card works let em know though.

Cheers,
Jon

i'm not sure, but i don't think you can do much with the data if supplied on SD card besides run it in the unit. pretty sure you can't upload it to a PC for use in mapsource.

you need the DVD.

4GB sandisk card works fine in my 60csx.
