City navigator North America v6

A unit with the Americas basemap will give routable coverage of South America. You could also use Garmin WorldMap.

Greg

Thanks but I have a 2610 and this can't be used with worldmap.

The unit is also an Atlantic version so no us base map!! Just can't seem to find a product which shows SA routes.

I have Map Source 6.5 for North America I'd be willing to trade for the European version...

This is the best deal I've seen on City Navigator North America v6, Nik.....

Of course I've just found it after we got back from California and Nevada, having used Roads and Rec., which doesn't autoroute, while we were out there.

I believe that one of the reasons it's so cheap is that v7 is just a few weeks away from release.

Seems like a good price Schtum. I was in BestBuys last week and they had copies of City Navigator V5 for $110. However, it's listed at $149 on their website.. So if you can live with the sligthly older mapping, and know someone in the US, you should be able to pick up V5 for $110.

I have City Navigator Europe v6 for trade if u want to? lmk

No, they won't!

Unlock codes will only work with the GPS unit that Garmin have issued that unlock code for.

Garmin allow you to load protected mapping software onto two units that you have registered with them.

Garmin have this buttoned up so well that I haven't even heard rumours of people tricking the codes!

bah!

that sucks! I guess this means I am buying from Garmin... but not the "top of the line, City Select routing stuff" (+$600!!), I'll just go with the $100 MetroGuide.

Oh well, it was worth a try I guess

If all you want is a display of streets - sort of like a paper map - then MetroGuide might be a wise choice for you. If you want data for Canada (I note your nickname is Canadian Greg), then buy MetroGuide Canada version 4, this supports route guidance.

I am not aware of any street level cartography for South America.
