Clacks , Crunches, or cant get Neutral

That one that sold for £10600 last week on eBay was though & only 500 miles

Interesting barometer

That was a quick sale, and the guy obviously wanted to get rid ASAP. Each to their own, but I'd certainly hold out for more if I were selling privately, especially as the trade in at a BMW dealer against another bike would be higher.:rob

I disagree, it seems that this is the barometer of the bike, sure you could put it up for £11 or £11500, but you'd probably get knocked back to £10500

Look at it another way, RRP is £13800 and of that, some £2300 is Vat, so subtract that to £11500 and then knock a grand off or so for wear and tear/mileage and you're back to £10500

Simples...........:D

See, I wasn't far out:JB

Sure a dealer can pitch it at £11500 to £12k, BUT he has the advantage of offering Finance/P-EX/New tyres or accessories etc, where the private seller cannot offer that service

It's all irrelevant until the day you sell. Some people will worry about future values of their bikes, the rest of us just ride em.:JB:thumb

I don't need to anymore, just enjoy riding old bikes.......................but I wouldn't like to be in the new bike market anymore, especially when there's some cracking secondand used ones about

New bikes are too expensive and not worth the money they cost

That 90th GSA, with 260 miles this week - was a prime example and cost about £10 for each mile travelled:eek:

Better to burn £10 notes, at least you'd keep warm:D

I disagree, in real terms they are pretty cheap compared to say 10 years ago.

I disagree

Car prices are lower in real terms and represent far better VFM, than bike prices

Bikes, use more fuel than a car that weighs 3x as much ................WTF is all that about

We need more fuel efficient bikes

Guys, I'm really interested in Nutty's recall comment.
Please start another thread if you want to argue about resale values, I'm sure people with clutch / gearbox problems are following this, hoping for info on that subject??

Thanks:thumb

I was speaking to my dealer today, and they seem to be under the impression from BMW that ALL bikes will be recalled to have this fitted.:rob

Possibly the most interesting post in this thread.

I wonder how we get:

a) Clarification?

b) When the revised part was introduced onto the production line?

I'm happy with my gearbox, bar the annoying crash into 1st, it's nice and smooth. So I'm wondering if mine (May/June build) already has the revised part?

What I don't want them to do is change the part and make it worse! I'm having a new clutch line fitted soon and I'm concerned enough about that!

Cars and bikes? not comparable they are different things, silly to compare them.

Bikes use more fuel - drag coefficient and acceleration - fuel efficient bikes are slower than cars, where's the fun in that.

The LC is more fuel efficient than the previous GSs and faster, so stop complaining :D

And Me too

This sounds interesting, and hopefully fixes it for those that have issues. Ive just done my 6000 service and the gear changes are even smoother now with fresh oil.

You are far to nice,it is an English habit to stick your fat face in somebody's else's business and talk/write shit.:D

Back to the gear box .
I have the rod fitted on the 30th , dealer told me they only do the replacement if the customer complains . In my case , changing from 1-2-3 was bad when I was riding the bike in heavy traffic during a hot day. The gearbox is fine in normal riding and cool weather.
Figure that out:confused:

There's plenty on here..........................whinging about their gearboxes and clutches:blast
