The way the gear issue is getting blown out of all proportion on here is a bit daft. It's giving the oldies a chance to do some proper winding up (you know who you are:green gri), but in reality, yes there is an issue with some bikes, and yes it will be sorted imminently, as the parts are on their way to the dealers.:rob:beerjug:

Once all the bikes have had the updates, and there are no more clutch/ gear issues, they'll have to find something else to poke a stick at.:D

In the meantime, the owners of the WC are enjoying what is a fantastic motorcycle.:JB:ChrisKelly:beerjug:

Almost anyone could... if they actually wanted to of course...

You just need to be willing to a). get a loan, or b). get BMW finance.

The whole 'Jealousy' argument is totally spurious.

The issue isn't whether someone can afford the bike...

It's whether it's actually worth buying in the first place.

If I was going to spend over £10k on a new bike, it'd be the S10.

But it ain't gonna happen, because I'm happy with my laughable old Airheads.

Laugh I just fell off me chair.

My 1976 RS had to have new wheels because of a casting design "issue", several other little issues (long time ago)...a new clutch because it had same fault as my 1999 1150GS had twenty years later LOL, the crankshaft oil seal letting go, terrible front brakes, exhaust's that would rot through in a couple of winters, but I loved it dearly and its probably still going strong.

Big mistake I sold it for one of the first K100's in the country - 20 odd warranty claims n 18 months later, got a cheque for BM and another R100RS.

Nothing Changes...

BTW

MY14 LCII is running fine, its now done 440 miles its a different bike nothing like MY13 LC, Herman remembered to put neutral in this one :clap and the gear change most times pretty darn good ...:D

Looking forward to bashing some more miles on it when I get back from Hols.

Not normal at all and frankly disgusting the dealer even had it in service as a demo.
 
Back to the original topic. Looks like mine is getting a new thrust pin or something although there is a bit of a wait.

It is a minor inconvenience and it will hopefully make a bloody good bike a little bit smoother but we shall see.

You've not got one then Johnny :blast glad you are happy with your bikes, im happy just to be on a bike any bike.
but the new GS is the best ever by a long way, I and thousands of others love it, yes there have been a few with problems me included its still the best bike out there.
read the posts people have tested the KTM, Yamaha, Honda, and Triumph what bike did they buy oh and not to mention the amount of people that rode in to the dealers on the previous GS and sign up immediately for the new one.

by the way I love mine its the best bike ive owned, one of my mates has had a go on mine and is going to buy it the end of the year when I order the GSA all he has to do is sell his Triumph :D

Enjoy it while you can, getting in to winter soon and that may be another story I ride all year so hope the new stead can hold up. (ACF50)

Bike will be going into the dealer on the 10th October to have its clutch rod and left and right switch assemblies. Hope it does the trick?

Dealer said BMW say it won't be right straight away! Don't understand that??
