Clacks , Crunches, or cant get Neutral

Having eschewed (great word) automatic cars for years but now owning one, with a great 8-speed box, engine cut-out at complete halt, hill start provision etc. etc. I am tending to agree with you.

I rode an automatic VFR on loan but couldn't get on with it. But, that was an early early version; for sure they will get better and better, whilst the electric bikes of the (not so distant) future won't have a gearbox - as we think of them - at all.

I tell yer what ...... I regularly get to drive a 2013 bm 535 auto ..... and it has the most fantastic 8 speed gearbox that is just seamless. Whether yer in normal auto or using the old tiptronic quick shift thing ...... it's awesome Trixie ..... feckin' awesome ... :thumb2

All these "rider aids" are there because the marketing demographic for the current/potential "toilet" owner requires their fitment. Bikers on the other hand don't.

Oh dear, bikers? Really?

You stay in your club mate, I carry on not letting one of my many pursuits define me as a person.

Aye, your not gay if you only suck a cock every once in a while :blast

I prefer to be a motorcyclist though, bike just makes me think of the black widows and sons of apathy :D

Good one. 135M 300bhp 3-litre turbo in a one series body. Way to go. It shouldn't really have an 'M' badge as it has a turbo but who cares.

I like those.:thumb Are you pleased with it?

Very nice, one of my favourites, estoril blue and 2 turbos, get it chipped 470bhp .

Yup, I am.

Bought second hand from a main dealership, who gave me a very good price for my 10 year old Golf GTi. The car was owned by BMW (UK) and had been used I believe as a part of BMW's sponsorship of the London Olympics. BMW have been leaking the many cars ( all sorts of spec's) back into the system through assorted dealerships in the SE (and for all I know, UK wide) as flooding the market straight after the games would gave been very stupid.... That being said, there are still some bargains out there if you are lucky and are prepared to haggle a bit.

.... Anyway, back on track....

Anyone with a WC clunky enough to warrant a free ticket to France this weekend?

Anyone got any fresh videos?

Anyone found a real fix?

Everyone still happy or unhappy?

Anyone wet their trousers?

Wapping. Would have been very nice ! However another twist happened yesterday. I took my bike to have the work done on it...got a f800r to ride home on which was great ! And a nice box on it too!
Got home and about 5 minutes later got a call to say they would need my bike longer than originally planned...
When they took the front casing off the engine and drained the oil, (forgive me im not a mech) a plate which they then removed had a chunk fall out of it ! They said they've never seen this before but it was all held together in the bike whilst under pressure. Anyway they have to order an entire new clutch as this part cannot be ordered separately. They will update me tomorrow. Never had any of this before with previous bmws so its frustrating to say the least.

I'm soooooo tempted to take up your offer of a free ticket but my gearbox is a gud'un guess this spoils it ???

I think you're a fucking idiot.

No offence.

Now, that's a valid argument, in true UKGSer's experts fashion. Interesting that quite a few other fucking idiots on this thread seem to agree with me.

As for a reply, how about you're being a fucking ignorant asshole? No offence.

I didnt' want to get any more involved in this, but this was too good to pass.

I think you may be the ignorant one, it's arsehole this side of the pond :blast

Ooh, and we invented the language, so we are right :D

Will you make the same offer if I start a thread complaining about my clunky old hexhead :D
Have a good wander:thumby: said through gritted teeth following last Saturday :blast

Getting back to the original problem of gear changes ,is there any body that has got a problem bike had any modifications/replacement parts fitted that has cured the problem .

I'd put money on there not being - I asked almost the same question some time ago and didn't get a reply, so either they 'adapted' to the 'problem' or sold their bikes???????????

I've had the pushrod replaced and although it's early days yet, the change is better. Hopefully it will continue to improve as the mileage increases.
