I was in there yesterday

ordering some parts. I told them some Tosser had started a thread about a place called Clarks and how it was really good on customer service. I let them know they had better buck their ideas up or I'd be off there too :augie :blast :D

Discount

I dont think there's a lot in the BMW clothing range they haven't got. Loads of Boots, Rallye 2 suits in both colours and lots of sizes and everything else to make anyone look like a round the world adventurer :augie. I thinks its Colin who runs that department since Lee left.

Yes, they have a wide range but give very little discount (especially since Lee left:blast) I have had up to 20% discount from other BMW dealers, check the size at Clarks and then order elsewhere :augie
But I do have all my servicing done there, Chris and his team are excellent:thumb2:thumb2

Howard, if you are buying a new jacket, check out Jim the parts manager at Southport superbikes.......................... you will find him very accommodating for prices:augie:augie ask BTBR:D

Yes indeed, Jim will look after you price wise.

Mutters if you ring him get a price on a Rallye II jacket, in blue, less the Goretex liner.

Not to sure on the size just yet as it is only going to be a summer jacket and I want a tightish fit, so no need to allow for extra layers underneath.

See if he will give a discount for buying 2 x jackets and your trousers in one hit?

(Found the question mark at last!)

I'm not buying anything yet :augie

First of all I lost another 5 pounds last week so I'm shrinking all the time :o Secondly the winter is coming (feels like it's already here ) so I'll be sticking with the baggy suit to wear nice warm stuff under until next year :thumb2

Finally I haven't made up my mind whether to buy a new Rallye II Pro, a Ewan and Charlie Belstaff or a Rev'It Cayenne :nenau (or maybe a Rukka )

I was there yesterday

As above I went to Clarkes to get hold of a couple of copper washers to fix a weep on my new brake line

I was using the old ones ....(yes I know its bad practice cos they struggle to seal on second useage)

So no problem FOC

While I was there I got hold of a Wunderlich catalogue and have placed an order for side panels

All in all very helpful staff

Lets see if they arrive quicker than the never produced and cancelled Touratechs ( from another source! NOT CLARKES)

I find it amazing that some people have a wonderful time at Clarks and others do not !
I have tried and tried to have a wonderful time there !
However from my very limited knowledge of how things work they are seriously flawed.
Both myself and a friend have both had apologies for being told outrageous lies by members of the staff.
I have been offered a part exchange that was so far out that 5 years later you still cannot buy that bike second hand same year for within £3000 of the price they offered me for mine.
I have been into the shop with £11,000 pounds in my pocket in cash to buy a particular bike (I had the rage to buy that bike) I left with the money as they were such chumps that they stopped the rage ! My mother, girlfriend bank manager, employer have all tried and failed to stop the same thing.
I seriously could go on and on with their feck ups.
The saying ignorance is bliss comes to mind !

Ohh I never said I'd buy a bike there
WAY TOO EXPENSIVE
eg a 52 plate Silver Adventure @ £7499 ( they have had it ages and ages)
I paid under £5k for mine with less miles (private sale)and more goodies.
No No No

Bits and pieces yes

NO WAY .....period

Totally agree - servicing and parts (Chris) brilliant, sales absolutely sh!te. They tried to flog me a 01 Dakar with 24k on it for £4200 last christmas. Picked up my 05 Dakar with 9k from Vines for under 4 grand instead.

Well I must be lucky then, bought my 54 reg F650GS in sept 05 with 4000 miles for £4100. Was the ex demo, in great condition and cheaper than anywhere else by about £500.

A little lay down!

Well on 19th Oct I had a GS lay down, enforced by a 19yr old behind me at a junction who decided to drive thru me to get onto the main road:blast
White van men don't you just *&^%$£ Em!:(
So my Bike will be going to CLARKES very soon:)
I'll let you all know how Chris & Rob fare with customer service
FROM THE SHARP END

Watch this space:clap or :nenau

I think you are wrong i think that young chap Tony has taken over from lee i mean that colin hasn't been there that long i mean Tony actually seems to know what he is talking about, nothing against colin but he is just a bit to big headed for me.

I don't agree with what you are saying on that what has colin done wrong every time i have seen him, he has never done anything wrong.

That tony isn't that up on his knowledge any way, I mean he only about knows what he is selling.

well!

thats cleared that up then....

I've had 3 brand new bikes from Clark's and in general they've been pretty good. Although my dealings with them of late haven't been so good. I've been waiting for my GP race can for my HP now for 5 weeks after the system I ordered came with the wrong can. Fair play to Dan, he was honest enough to tell that they had failed to post the wrong can back to the supplier in order to get the new one. It had been sat at Clark's for a couple of weeks...

Previous to the bike going in to have the race system fitted, I had informed Chris that yet again the fuel tank sender needed to be replaced. On arriving to have these things fitted, Chris denied all knowledge of our conversation on the phone regarding the tank sender...:spitfire Sometimes Chris can be a little awkward over warranty work etc, almost like he's paying for it out of his own pocket...

So, most of my dealings with Clark's have been positive. Dan is a 'top bloke' but some of his staff on the other hand, is another story....well the PDI carried out on my HP is definately another story...

CLARKES REPAIRS

Well Im awaiting the parts to arrive at CLARKES for my approx £800 worth ( plus VAT) of bits to be fitted. ( I'm not paying the 19yr olds insurance company is)

Bike goes in on 5/12/07, I'll let you all know how it goes, they say it should be about 2hrs ( once the exhaust cools and they can take it off) but they have plenty to get on with till it does.

FOS hand guard
FOS crash bars( upper and lower)
FOS exhaust pipe
FOS Head guard
Touratech racks ( L R & crossbar)
Rear numberplate
Rear (lower) mudguard

I bet my new touratech rear carrier/ racks don't arrive on time!:blast
