I have been browsing wax motorcycle jackets for a few days now and was shocked at the prices of Belstaff and Barbour. Don't get me wrong I am prepared to cough up the cash if they are worth it but, I have seen this small company not too far from me called Claymore and was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them ? They claim to use the same materials as Belstaff but offer a tailored fit.
Any constructive comments greatfully received !

Website looks good, they have positive feedback on Ebay.
Prices are very keen.
I'd buy from them - as the stuff looks identical to the other B@B stuff.
As you are local, pop in and let us know.

I've got one, I sent way more measurements than the standard ones and the jacket fits like a glove. I even got one wrong and the bloke there called me up to check, as he thought it was a couple of inches out! The tape measure was having a bad day ;)

It was delivered really quickly and service was very good. I had Knox armour included and this was charged on at cost.

I had a faulty zip so returned the jacket and it was replaced FOC and returned quickly. It's a great 3 season jacket and stands up really well to light rain (I haven't worn it in really heavy rain). I like it.

Belstaff won

Thanks for all the comments, I was going to go for the claymore but lucked upon a Belstaff trial master for £200 in mint condition on fleabay so went for that instead. :beerjug:

While

we are talking wax cotton. What do you all use to reproof your jackets? Mine is not a bike jacket but a dog walking one. If anyone has reproofed theirs I would be greatfull if they could post what is the stuff to use.
Cheers Glenn.

Have you got a link or web address for this company please.

Perhaps my google searching skills are not very good but I cannot find them.

Thanks

Ive never seen these in the flesh so to speak..but Im "kinda" happy with my Belstaff..

For me..the Belstaff

1) Fits great....I mean GREAT..
2) Classic style. Wear it to the Pub or on the Bike...or with the dogs..or to work..
3) Could be thicker (>10oz cotton)
4) Defo could be warmer (40 mins on bike @ 3 degrees..and I needed a shower!). Needs insulation in the arms as well..
5) Better protection - back protector as well ??
6) Same quality - feels like it will last 20 years.
7) Belt could be a little better - Bigger buckle..

If these Claymores can fulfill the above - Get one...and at that price ..get one anyway...

...I was thinking of getting a Belstaff Mojave...but I may try one of these TT Jackets...

Looks good stuff though....
