Cleaning a grey seat

The grey seat on my bike is looking very grubby and I can't get it clean - nothing touches the grime. Ive tried ordinary car shampoo and Holts 'interior' cleaner that is supposed to good for vinyl.
Can anybody recommend something that will work?

You could try some mucoff or some cif cleaner and a nail brush works for me.

my missus once used JIF to clean tree sap off a metro, she said it looked great until it dried off.

You've brought back memories here, cause I think your question, was the first I asked, on joining the forum. Someone suggested Mr Muscle Orange, household cleaner, for my then 1150 ADV yellow seat. Spray it on and leave it for a few minutes before washing off. Works a treat...

Decosol! works wonders and fairly cheap. I used this on a cream leather sofa and it came up as new...

WD40 will get all the crap off and bring it up like new

I use Hein Gericke Gel bike cleaner, sprayed on with a hand sprayer then rinsed off after a short tea break. Works a treat.

If its really dirty, a gentle scrubbing brush might get the worst off.

Fanum: Sitting on it whilst riding it a lot is the reason I want to clean it up - It has a bum shaped clean patch on it!

mike wright: do they still make Decosol? brought back memories of cleaning the interior of my grandad's Austin 1800 (cough) many years ago...

speedo & pukmeister: tried Autoglym stuff i got for christmas (same as mucoff) and that works OK.
