Me too - just top the AFC50 and wash in spring. Simple

In spring I will use Castrol Greentech and a bit of careful pressure washing and it will sparkle again.
 
Bought the muc-off stuff a while ago and thought it was shit a right ripoff at the price. Might as well use fairy liquid strips it just as good if thats what your after. Cheap halfords wash n wax for me and power wash using lots of different and strange cleaning brushes that ive collected over the years.
The secret to having a clean bike is never to let it get too dirty in the first place....regular simple cleaning.
As i stated earlier i dont bother riding out on the salty wet roads. Dont find it fun and cant be arsed with the cleaning and putting a wet bike back in the garage to fester for weeks...

I would be very careful using Solvol Autosol, it's an abrasive polish and with prolonged "careful" use will cause slight scratches. Much prefer a less abrasive liquid polish, but each to their own ;-)
 
oh for heavens sake, go read the write up ride magazine did on the different washing solutions....Muc Off was no less harmful than normal bloody fairy liquid. And even that was the same or similar composition to the expensive rubbish some persist on buying. Its a bloody bike.....
 
I have used muck off for years and swear by it. My bikes are cleaner than new. Obviously if you spray the whole bike with it and take yonks to rinse it will dry it may possibly stain/mark/melt your bike but I clean and rinse my bike in sections and it is spot on.

I had a 12 year old VFR which still looked new when I sold it to get my GS all down to cleaning it with Muck Off. It is brilliant in the house too. It worked wonders on my kitchen floor tiles when all the super dooper specialist tile cleaners failed to get the stains around my oven clean.

We all have our own opinions and methods and none of us are wrong. It's called freedom of choice and long may it continue :thumb2
 
I've said it before, I'll say it again.

I've had 4 pieces of mild steel stood outside my shed for 4 yrs.

1..coated with car polish...which is now very very rusty.

2..coated with wd 40...which is now very very rusty.

3..coated with acf 50 which is now fairly rusty.

4..coated with bilt hamber dynax uc there is no sign that any rust is even beginning to take hold and it looks like the day I coated it.

It's a wax based coating and to be fair it does make your bike look dull,it takes any shine off exposed metal or chrome,but it can be easily removed in the spring to leave all metal surfaces looking like new.

Coat the bike pre winter, abviously taking care around the brakes.

That's it,ride your bike in any weather rinse it off when you get home stick it in the shed /garage

If you like a nice shiny bike take the dynax uc off in the spring (bilt hamber do a solution to remove it) polish it up and off you go.

I can't believe this stuff is not more widely known than it is,although it is widely used by those in the know.

Treat with ACF50 and wash off when they stop putting salt down.
 
Do you use this Dynax UC in aerosol form? can it be sprayed into a lid and brushed on too? does in need topping up or is it quite durable over the winter?

Bit of de greaser in the pressure wash at the end of every weekend, not a major clean but hopefully enough to wash the salt off. Its in to the garage wet after that that, worst thing you can do for corrosion prevention but my insurance is reduced by 50% if I leave my bike on the drive. The bike will rot like a bad one over the next two years, the loss difference between spending hours polishing everything and letting it get a bit rough is only a few hundered pounds, as i have descided this is not a long term bike im just going to do the minimum cleaning and trust ACF50 to do its job.
 
I use dynax 50 and uc on my cars. Only just seen the uc otherwise I might have bought that instead of the litre of acf50 I just bought.....

Fairy liquid is full of salt but you knew that right?

Last I heard was he was checking out of hospital having had a hernia dealt with and then on his way to a shrink with anxiety disorder.

I hadn't seen this previously, now ordered some and some degreaser for the spring as well.

Your trial on the 4 pieces of mild steel is all the testimonial I needed.
