There was some talk I think a while back of someone who had waxed the panels on their new adventure and this had resulted in streaks. I too have now experienced this on the new olive panels of my 1200 ADV ... I removed the black R1200 stickers (What were they thinking!!) and the other warning ones too (I take labels off clothes also) and use a bit of WD40 to take away the stickiness. There was a little overspray that got on the tank panel and this has left lighter spots! I have cleaned it with glass cleaner & Mr Muscle so far but there is still ghost marks. Anyone else had this? solutions?

Not had this experience but I always use a water based domestic furniture polish (Mr Sheen, Pledge etc) on this sort of surface and it works brilliantly leaving it streak free.
Yes, Mr Sheen cleans umpteen things clean.

Every time I get home after a ride, I hose down the bike and spray Mr Sheen all over the wet bike. Dusters to "Shammy" it down and you're left with a wax protected clean bike for next trip. A little more care when rubbing the black side panels is required, just to keep them streak free.

Spray WD40 over all of it, problem solved ;)

I noticed this before I'd had a chance to get mine dirty! What's the best way to reove it and keep it at bay?

Funny - after trying ethanol, benzine, and acetone (all should degrease) to no avail this is EACTLY what I have done... sprayed it and buffed it in. Certainly the light spots from the initial splatter did not go away with any solvent or cleaner ! :eek I am seriously thinking of spraying the covers as the olive is just too damn tasteful for me - I am thinking BMW roundel blue ...?
