Cleaning BMW Panniers

My GS 1200 standard panniers are quite stained and streaky (from too much truck wash I think) what's the best thing to clean them with?

Solvol Autosol and a polishing set from Lidl all done for £10(ish) then have them wrapped if you like. They even have a cheapo drill to go with it for another tenner.

I gave up bothering after a while - too much work. Four years on and the panniers have a nice "worn but not knackered look" complete with a small dent covered with a sticker
