Well I'm very happy with the results so far
Wind is gone....I can see THROUGH the screen or over it, depending on rain volume, and my legs are staying dry now.....might need some wally flaps for my feet though
MPG not suffered....in fact, the last two tanks of fuel Ive run through it my range has gone up by 20 miles per tank, but that might be because I used that optimum stuff.
Two lockable cubbies.....one has a twin cigarette charger and a USB charger output mounted in it, and I've put some strip around the flap and it seems waterproof
The fairing is rock solid, probably because I went up to M8 bolts and made up steel brackets for it all round out of 3 mill galvanised steel
There's a slight rattle that I still haven't tracked down, but I suspect it's the other cubby flap......I'll silicone on some more beading around that today.
Also today, I'm fitting some bar risers.......with the wind pressure gone, my hands ache a bit so the risers will pull the bars up and back a couple of inches.
Yes, I know that stupid LED light strip is ridiculous, but I have to lock up in the pitch black here......and when I get home, I have to lock the bike up also in the pitch black.....the LED strip is plenty bright enough to see to do both, and if you don't like it, tough
I also made a penny-tech mod to the cockpit.
Because it's a universal fit fairing, there was a massive gap between the instruments and screen rim, so I got a bit of rubber sound proofing mat, cut it to shape (it was slightly too small on one corner because of a previous cut) and mounted it.....
I also then cut up two rectangles of the same material and siliconed them onto the flap......a bit of velcro in the bottom and my 13 quid Zumo Ebat bargain fits in there perfectly, out of the weather totally and right where i can see it and use it
£100 for a touratech GPS holder? I shit'em
