I was wheeling my 1150 into the garage after a ride today and I noticed a very light clicking noise coming from the rear wheel. I put her on the centre stand and rotated the rear wheel backwards and forwards and the noise was definitely there. It seemed to be coming from the brake caliper so I took the caliper off, but the noise was still there. There is absolutely no play in the rear wheel.

Has anybody come across this before and is it something I need to be worried about?

Does it have a hugger on it?.They can rub on the tyre intermittently.
As long as there is no play in the hub,i dont think i would worry too much.
May be worth draining the final drive oil and then check for clicking or any suspect bits in the oil.

Not exactly the same, BUT, I had a clicking noise come from the front end of my 1100, turns
out it was one of the bolts securing the right hand side disk had come loose and the vibration
caused it to unthread till it started hitting the forkleg.

Could be the same on yours. :nenau

Could be the output side bearing.

The cage had collapsed in mine but there was still no play. The dripping oil from the seal damaged by the debris was all that gave it away.:(

Drained the rear drive oil as suggested and apart from a few tiny metallic particles stuck to the magnetic drain plug all seemed normal. One other thing I have noticed is that the noise only seems to be there after a run, it is not there when checked a few hours later.
