clicking

Do any of your bikes suffer from a clicking when coasting with the clutch in and in gear? It seems to be in relation to road speed and goes as soon as the clutch is pulled in, is it the gearbox on the way? It's a 2005 1200 with 6200 miles on it and recently been serviced by Mill.

I was convinced my gearbox or drive shaft was shot to pieces when my bike suddenly started making a horrendous clonking noise. It was speed related, and it made no difference whether the clutch was in or out.

Pulled over to inspect and.....it turned out I had a bloody great nail sticking out of the tyre. It had been bashing on the hugger I had fitted at the time. I was actually pleased to have a puncture. Hope this isn't the cause of your clicking, an dindeed it turns out to be nothing serious. I can't say I've ever heard anything that can be described as a clicking on my 12GS, though.
