The clock on my 1150 GS seems to have developed a fault. It sets ok with the ignition turned on but as soon as I turn the ignition off and on again it cancels the time and has to be reset again. Has anybody any idea what could be wrong?

HI Craig,sounds like battery probs.
especially ties in with your other post of abs probs with a flat battery;)
happy gs'ing.

why fuse 3?

surely if a fuse blows thats it.. it wont work at all.

battery sounds about right - symptoms are classic (added to prev. mentioned ABS troubles) but its simple enough to swap the fuse and see if it still happens.. 2 minute job.

A up

I am having loads of problems I have lost all my mileage . now I have no clock, so I took all my fuses out and put them back in and I have my clock back , Also when I turn the engine off the rev counter stays at 1300 revs , but if I turn the ignition on and off it goes back down 0 revs , My bike is a F650GS hope you fix your problem Mel

Clock

Battery have a look through previous posts.

Don't know the exact workings as I don't have a wiring diagram to hand :o but would guess that the battery supplies the clock when the engine isn't running via fuse 3. When the engine is running, it gets 12v without going through the battery.

As said, no if's but's or maybes - fuse 3 - it's been posted previously sooooo many times .

I see... that makes sense. and now stored in the memory file.:thumb

Thanks to everyone who suggested fuse 3, this had blown due to a short on the airbed pump. Problem is now solved.

Thanks a lot
