Hi, i've searched the forum before posting but not found the info. My clock only comes on when the ignition's on. I've checked the fuses and they're fine. What else should i be looking for?
Thanks Neil, tried the fuse swap already, to no avail. It may just be a completely knackered battery. got a new one on order so we'll see how that goes.

Its not the battery as Dave always kept it on the Optimate and made no odds, my old 1150 used to do the same thing, keeps good time when ignition is on but zeros when it goes off.
On my bike it bugged the hell out of me as I have a need for a clock to tell the right time, alas Steppers never got to the bottom of it on my bike so I sold it

If telling the time is so important to you, you may wish to sign up to an on-line course in telling the time by the Sun (not the red-topped newspaper) - man has been doing that for thousands of years
Had the same issue on mine an 1150 01 GS, it was the live feed to the dash (red and white wire from memory). Was a bastard to track down in the main loom toward the battery box
Only bothered because I had to fix the neutral light ground wire which also went south in a similiar location

Not weird at all - a clock that tells the wrong time is worse than no clock.
Cue various responses such as:
"What does a bike need a clock for anyway?"
"I took mine off as soon as I could - pointless bling"
"My bike is only ridden within sight of town hall clocks - what do I need a clock for?"
"People should just get out and ride their bike and do less time telling"
"Back in my day we used to lick the moss on trees to tell the time - we were only occasionally late for stuff"
"Clocks are like TKC80's - just for people who want to look like 'real bikers'"
"People saw E&C had clocks and of course they all want one now"
blah, blah, blah
