Hi all,. The clock face on my x country has a small crack in it and wet/moist air is getting in resulting in condensation. I'v superglued the crack but im sure its still letting water in. Tried drying it out with hair dryer but this just plays havoc with the LED'S.
New are £247 plus set up at dealer. Tried Motorworks to see if ther breaking 1, no joy. ANY IDEAS GUYS. If it has to be new so be it.

if it's just a crack in the face then there is a chance you can strip down the clock assembly. I would try to get the circuit board out complete, probably possible. Then you can replace the glass and seal it up with silicone or something. I've done it before on other bikes. It helps if you have the mentality that you have nothing to lose anyway.

Was one on ebay a few weeks ago. Try a search on completed listing under x challenge and g650,

Ive got one that the LED is sometimes illegible, other times works fine, glass front all intact yours for £40 posted

Hallo
Here in germany the instrument pannel is one of the most changed parts under warranty. So i think you also have a good chance to get it under "Kulanz" (sorry i dont know the english word for that, dict. says fair dealing ).
Greetings from Germany
Nobu

G650 panel

Pulled the whole thing apart just after Christmas as was showing an error, be careful with the tiny self tappers and the thin o ring seal but otherwise seems like a serviceable item. With some clever cutting (scalpel blade) I reckon the front clear bezel should come away so you can replace it with a some thin perspex sheet.

Or buy a broken one and use as spares.

Hi Nobu. Not sure they will replace my clocks under warranty as they have a crack in the instrument panel. But thanks for the info that the clocks are prone to problems.

Ps, im going to Austria in late july and stopping overnight in Augsburg.
