Hello everyone,

Bit of a weird problem: my clocks reset to 00:00 at random times.

The bike is an 1100, used mainly for short journeys to work. The ABS still triggers so I'm assuming that there's juice left in the battery. In fact, all of the electrics seem to work perfectly, although a couple of times recently the side stand cut off has been a bit sticky and I've had to put the stand up and down before the bike comes alive.

The clocks don't reset when the bike turns over, but randomly when riding along.

Any suggestions as to what to look for?

wire breaking down around the headstock

Don't think that loom supplies the clock...

I'd have a look at the fuses (No6 IIRC) - any corrosion? - replace it anyway. Any other symptoms? Fuel or temp guage or backlight intermittent?

Hi, no, no other faults, other than the side stand cut out getting a bit glitchy.
I did wonder if a low speed drop (or a gravity assisted, left side lie down as I like to call it) might have upset some wiring, but it was a very gentle drop.

Mine did this a few weeks back. Turned out the battery just needed a charge (lots of short journeys over winter). Left it on a trickle charge over a weekend as works fine now... gave me the kick in the arse I needed to set the time right anyway ;)

Peace, out.
