Close now

It will go to the DC in Northants.
The DC at Thorne is now used for prepping and repair of used vehicles and ex-lease vehicles. BMW now have a massive site at Immingham for the new cars-- acres and acres of shiny new beemers as far as the eye can see, right on the side of the Humber Estuary.

Many years ago i used to transport Nissan cars from Teesport (off the boat) and take them to storage in a place called Wellsbourne in Warwickshire. It was an old airfield and there were thousands of them there, just stood outside quietly rusting away.

Picked mine up last Friday - having done the deal the previous weekend.

I could have had another one that was in the showroom but it had that SOS button and i didn’t want that. My bike will be with the dealer on Tuesday so trying to arrange to pick it up Saturday. Need a lift into Aberdeen lol.

I asked at BMW off road last week why they didnt disable the SOS on the bikes as it goes off every time the bike is dropped, the response was Mothership wants £80 per bike to disable it so no they just leave it on.

The problem being they charge £305 for it as an option. I wasnt paying that so ordered another bike without it.

Yes, mine has the SOS thing (seems that dealers always specify it). I told them I didn't want it and we negotiated a bit.

I didnt, it was take it or leave it and there was another bike being built and due at dealers in three weeks so decided to wait, im in no hurry (well i wasnt then lol)

Where do they go to have the “quick rusting compound” sprayed onto them? I’m guessing that the leaky brakes are a factory fit?

We used to deliver the fuel into their storage tanks-- super unleaded for the bikes plus diesel for the cars and gasoil for the de-waxing plant.
Last time i was there was just after the London Olympics when they were flat out refurbing the 3000 cars supplied by BMW as runarounds for the games organisers. There was a massive skip full of dinged alloys( with big holes drilled in them to prevent re-use...) and various piles of bodyparts damaged during the games.
