Clothing repairs - Leather and / or textile

I’ve used Hillforleather in Hampshire, and it’s also where Motolegends have their mods done.
Good work, but what a miserable grumpy beggar… I always enjoy getting moaned at while I’m handing over money!

I used Hideout a few months back, they were great. I have a pair of Klim BAJA S4 Summer gloves that are just superb to wear in summer, and my favourite gloves. They do suffer from an issue with stitching on the index finger breaking. Hideout repaired it and reinforced it with a small piece of goatskin leather, and they are now probably better than new. Cost was just around £40 including the return postage. I'd imagine it was fairly complicated to do the repair, but they did a fantastic job.
 
It is probably not worth adding to the list, so please trash this post if not useful. There is a seamstress in Warrington, a little place called ZipYard (Which is a franchise operation), she does not do advertise bike specific repairs, but she has done excellent work sewing stirrups in bike jeans for me to stop them riding up, sewing the connector zips into jeans with triple stitching, moving the armour pockets on some Rokker Jeans, and replaced the zips in my Klim Maverick after it derailed and would not go back, with a YKK, and it's better than new.

Recently repaired a Rukka jacket and trousers that i had an off with some time ago, did not want to bin the jacket or trousers as IMHO its better than the latest stuff with far more armacor on it than latest kit. Fully repaired the arm on it and have tested in some crappy weather and its fully waterproof. Some before and after images.

As I said earlier Richard, I can personally recommend "The Tilehurst Cobbler" in Reading.

A very approachable man by telephone who takes on repairs to almost anything, he is worth adding to the list.

They were stupidly expensive, around £300+. They now outsourced the fabrication but to their own spec.

He also takes on projects. Made me few leather pieces, zipper repair or replacement.
 
I tasked BKS with replacing the busted zip in my jacket - proper job and was returned having been cleaned and the leather refreshed/treated. Looked like new (y)

I’ve used a couple of equine saddlers for leather repairs in the past, they’re obviously competent in working with leather and can be very competitive on simple repairs.
