clunking transmission/final drive

hi all,
i have noticed that as i let the clutch out i get a clunking noise.
this isnt the clunk you get when changing gear, but after when you release the clutch and the gearbox bites onto the cogs.

not a grinding, definately a clunk. almost as if its the free play between the splines being taken up

is this normal?

yes it is by the sound of it.

another quick one (also checking if its normal)

after the check disappears and i get the flashing "brake failure" light
when i start the bike up, i get the indicator lights (red then yellow) and a little battery showing

is this normal? only stays a second or 2 at most. i travel 140miles a day on it and no problems what so ever (except a yellow warning light to today, but think that was the ASC saying id slipped at a roundabout)

man its a nice bike, but aint half complicated!!

All normal, the brake failure light goes off once the wheels have turned, it's part of the abs test

was more the battery bit i was worried about
according to the manual, it means that there is insufficient charge current. but its only there briefly?

Prob shows just after start as the sysytem settles after the drain from the starter.
If it goes out pretty quick I wouldn't worry too much - I think mine does the same, I get the battery symbol (can't remember if I get the yellow light)for a second or two after starting
