Drive shaft/final drive noise

Just some immediate thoughts on reading these posts.

You say you've fitted a new, OEM shaft? How did that go? I wondered if the shaft hasn't been hit home at the output from the gearbox, so the spring ring isn't engaged, meaning the shaft still be a little closer to the FD all the time? Maybe it's not possible to complete the assembly if it's not pushed home? As said, a first thought!

The second thought was, if the drive shaft is making contact with the swing arm tunnel, then surely you'd be able to see where by now, some visible marks, somewhere?

The other obvious thing is, if the shocks have been rebuilt and finally it's all in the right place, then on the centre stand, there is a really good chance you'll hear the UJs making contact with the swing arm as you rotate the wheel, especially when you consider Pick Meister's comment above... meaning all is normal!

I'm thinking all is in fact just fine ☺️🤞🏻

The new OEM shaft was fitted as the RSD/BMW service software describes, with the addition of removing the swingarm. Having done that now a couple of times makes that faster than trying to wiggle the shaft through the swingarm. I was snapped in place with leveraging a large screwdriver between the frame, a block of wood and the yoke that slid over the output shaft.

Have yet to check for visible marks, haven't had the time to check that yet this week. Last weekend I was giving the bike a real hot supper in the Eifel region of Germany (in 40°c weather), only noticed this when I got back home.

Might be because of the shocks, but I don't know. Didn't measure the before and after. But having dine another 130 miles yesterday, I can't notice any noise or vibrations during my riding. Even rode half of that without plug to hear things better.

Maybe it's indeed in my head. Searching for something that isn't there. My last 2 shaft driven bikes (BMW R1100S & A suzuki Intruder 750) where both rust buckets with more than enough noises and vibrations...
