R100GS PD Drive shaft re-engage to final drive

Hi All,

I'm trying to re-engage my PD's driveshaft to its final drive. The swinging arm is off the bike and the bevel box is still connected to the swinging arm.

I'm guessing that the bevel box needs to be disconnected from the swinging arm and then the shaft can be re-engaged, then bevel box back on....but I'm trying to avoid that.

Any sensible advice is appreciated.

For the sake of undoing the trunnions and removing the rear drive I’m failing to understand why you’re making life difficult for yourself

sometimes the long way round a job is easier and much less frustrating.
plus you can lube that end of the shaft ( unless it runs in oil )

Just keep trying. Get the splines lubed up and at the right angle and it will go in..keep repeating..it will go in
