Never had an issue on my 950s
Yes but to be fair yours were used mainly as a road bike with consequently less clutch use/abuse.
The issue really arose with early 950s and was generally sorted after 2003 but many owners of later bikes still fit an oversize jet.
Did the same with my 990. Sounds like it would be worth exploring on the 790.Yes but to be fair yours were used mainly as a road bike with consequently less clutch use/abuse.

Is that a general LC8 thing Tim (ie on the later, bigger engines as well) or just a 950/990 thing?
I ask as I've replaced my clutch at just under 20,000 miles which surprised me somewhat.
Andres
Checking/clearing the clutch jet is an item on the 18K service (and possibly the 9K), but I doubt many bother with it as it's a bit awkward.

Of course the 790 issue may turn out not to be the oil jet, but surely it's worth experimenting.
The increase in diameter for the jet on LC8s is only around 0.5mm.
Jo highlighted checking for a blockage due to Loctite which perhaps is used on assembly but if like the LC8 the jet is brass then then I wouldn't personally use Loctite![]()
I’ve read that increasing the jet size can have an impact on the ease of finding neutral??
Correct, it's one of the side effects as the additional oil flow can increase clutch drag.

The size of jet fitted as standard is supposed to be marked '30' for 0.3mm but at least one owner has found his bike had a '25' jet.
Rekluse, the clutch company, are reported to have also said this has happened. But other owners with failed clutches have had '30' jets.

So how many clutch failures is a "cluster" ?
INTERESTED TO KNOW WHERE THE OIL JET IS LOCATED. ANYONE GOT ACCESS TO A WORKSHOP MANUAL? I'VE TRIED DOWNLOADING FROM THE KTM 790 LOOK AT ALL THE ISSUES.COM BUT IT FAILS.
