I Have an 05 1200gs and its coming up to 2 years old and therefore will need a brake fluid change. Its non ABS so I'll do this myself with my vacuum pump (I've done the car loads of times!). Question is does the clutch fluid need doing as well, I have read somewhere that the clutch fluid does not need doing???

If its does need doing I assume its the same process as the brakes...anyone got pickies and instructions they can point me too?

Thanks

Steve

Save yout time and effort - I know a lot of folks that do bleed the clutch but there really is no need - even BMW say it is good for life and if they thought they could put another job on the to do list of your servicng delaer they would. I am sure people will say that the fluid was dirty when they changed it - I say so what! You'll be fine.

thanks Jon

anything that saves me time and money is good advice if you ask me :thumb2

Correct. Also, on the new R1200xx series bikes the clutch fluid is mineral oil, not brake fluid. No significant heat exposure + no water absorption = lifetime service.
