Is anyone having an issue with the clutch and brake lever on the 1300? They seem to be a bit of a stretch even at their closest setting. I tried another bike with 719 levers and they are a good half inch closer.
Looks like a solution , but an expensive one I fear as they are around 200 each , ouchIs anyone having an issue with the clutch and brake lever on the 1300? They seem to be a bit of a stretch even at their closest setting. I tried another bike with 719 levers and they are a good half inch closer.
I have resolved the issue there is a further adjustment on the lever that changes the bite point of the clutch. Much better now.Yes
The front brake is fine but I find the bite point of the clutch is a long way out
My clutch lever feels to be angled down slightly which won't help so I've asked for it to be raised a tad at the first service on Saturday
The bike I road tested originally had the short levers so can't really compare
Where dat ?I have resolved the issue there is a further adjustment on the lever that changes the bite point of the clutch. Much better now.
There is a small screw attached to the piston between the lever and the clutch reservoir. This can be adjusted after loosening the locking grub screw. I’d post a photo if I knew how.Where dat ?
I'll have a look when I get home

Don’t appear to have that option, just shows the link icon for me.

That's an option available to Subscribers.

I'll second that warning, I also adjusted that screw on a previous 1250 and ended up with clutch slipping and had to adjust it back. You won't notice until you go out on the bike. I decided it's best not to touch it.On the earlier bikes like my 1200 LC, a small movement of this screw produces a significant change at the clutch and it's very easy to go too far and end up with clutch slip.
I was told by my go to bike service guy who's an ex Motorrad head tech that BMW say not to touch it.
However after a couple of trial and errors, adjusting mine has resulted in a good improvement to the quality of the gear change.
Thanks for checking , was hoping for a bit more with the enduro type as designed for more control . Oh well ... bugger45/46 so not a lot of difference.
I have them, there quite short took a bit of getting used to as your hand overlaps the endDoes anyone have the enduro levers fitted to their bike as interested to see if the levers are closer to the bars by design as more off road oriented. The standard ( clutch side) measure approx 48 mm from the back of the elbow of the lever to the grip . If someone could measure as an alternative. Thanks
Thanks , thought that may be the case . CheersI have them, there quite short took a bit of getting used to as your hand overlaps the end
