Clutch Plate Needed - desperate!

I've just had exactly the same problem. Found a half decent one on eBay for £65 & a mate kindly offered to fit it for me.

We started at 6pm on Friday & finished at 2.30am on Saturday :clap

Would add a similar pic to yours but can't work out how to do from an iPad...

Just out of interest, the biggest hassle was the gear position indicator switch. I could NOT get the plug through between the ABS unit and the gearbox, I had to cut the wires (or take the ABS unit out). :

It is very simple to thread the plug through and put back once you've done it a few times. There is the same simple route on all bikes ;)

Suspect mine had been mis-routed. It really was a case of battery tray/ABS bracket out. The cable was routed to the left of the throttle cable splitter and over the LH throttle cable, so not possible to move it right far enough to clear between the bottom of the battery tray and the engine mount.

However, that was the worst bit, it was all pretty straightforward otherwise - but I really appreciate your tips in the links above!

Followed your methods except I decided to split the swinging arm to check inside for bearing condition, drive shaft etc. All seems to be well, thankfully.

Now on my 3rd beer and back pain is subsiding. I miss my hydraulic bench - had to get rid as the garage at this place is too low. Bummer!

More good advice from iftikartaxis received by PM:

"When a good clutch recon services sees the bmw clutch they will know what else it fits"

I may just send the worn plate for relining to have a spare and to find out... :thumby:

Dont worry about the clutch plate!
Just look at them Splines!!!

Got onto Woolastons today re the Saturday delivery that I paid over £30 for.

They contacted TNT who said "it's stuck in Leeds" and promised to call me. No call, no clutch.

Bollocks! TNT will get a call tomorrow
