Hi Daz,
Its been 2yrs since I done mine as I remember the air filter and battery and housing have to be removed, make sure you have a spare pair of hands when removing the gearbox as its easy to bend the clutch push rod...but most of all enjoy it, ya feel like ya have climbed Mt Everest after it have a beer ready.

Daz.

It's a year since I did mine [spline lube] and IF I remember it wasn't necessary to remove the battery housing. It was necessary to be a bit brutal in forcing the bottom of the housing clear of the two rubber mounted bolts atop the gearbox.

The real problem is getting LH rubber mounted bolt clear of the earth strap. The gearbox can't go down because of the push rod. Next time I'll drill a hole in the bottom of the battery housing so the earth strap can be released, the gearbox should the slide back easy.

If I can find the pics of the gearbox removal I'll know for sure about the battery box and I'll post a few.

GOT TO CLUTCH

At last ive managed to get to the inner sanctum, The clutch plate.
in the end i didnt have to take the battery housing out, in fact i doubt if you can with the ABS unit in place.
i undid all the screws holding all the gubbins in place then managed to wriggle and jiggle everything until, the bluddy thing came out.
took about 5 hours on mi tod to get this far, used trolley jack under transmssion housing to prevent it dropping, then used that to pull the whole lot back,
Cant wait until tomorrow ;) , should all be back together, would have been big help to have some help, but.
Thanks for the help lads, cheers:beerjug:
