I have fluid weeping out of my clutch slave cylinder on my 05 gs1200 and need some help. I think slave itself is ok because my clutch resevoir has not dropped any so it must be gearbox oil weeping out. I understand that there is a seal in behind the slave the can fail so can anyone on hear give me any info on this? Is it safe to remove cylinder without draining and bleeding the clutch? Also heard of oil contaminating clutch  which i def dont want to happen.

The clutch hydraulic system is a sealed item.

You don't need to drain the fluid, just undo the two screws securing the slave to the gearbox and move it out of the way.

You'll now see the small seal in the rear of the box.
Ping the old seal out, zing in the new.

It can be a bit awkward inserting the new seal if you haven't done it before, purely due to lack of space.

Thanks steptoe your a gentleman. Dont suppose you know the name or part number for the seal?

Donny there are online parts viewers available to use, such as the MAXBMW site for one. Do a google search for it then look at the exploded parts views for your bike and you will find the parts numbers you seek.
