CN 2010

When I got the Zumo I downloaded CN 2010 as part of the free upgrade on mapping, after a major crash on the computer I had to carry out a reinstall, went to download the mapping and now it says it's expired and I can't reinstall the map on the computer, so I now have CN 2010 on the Zumo and the old version on the computer, any ideas how I can download it or get a copy of CN 2010 on disc as I can still get the unlock code from my garmin account, why do Garmin have to make it so bloody difficult

Just a thought Ned: Do you have Mapsource 6.15.x ? I don't think CN2010 works with earlier versions of Mapsource.

Not sure, I downloaded 2010 when I got the Zumo, now it won't let me as it says it's expired. I installed the mapsource that came with the Zumo so not sure what version it is. When I click on the manage maps in mapsource it says 2010 not installed

If it's any consolation Ned, I'm having similar problems too after downloading 2010. Several attempts at loading onto my 660 and numerous crashes, I am well and truly at the end of my tether. "My Garmin" website says 2010 is on my GPS but it bloody well isn't. I just don't know how to fix this and will be watching this thread very closely in the hope of some simple words of wisdom.

Ned,
you said you downloaded the mapping for CN2010.
My 660 came with a DVD in the box, which has the mapping on it. So maybe that's what you need to run.

To find which version of mapsource you've got, go to HELP>ABOUT MAPSOURCE

I've got version 6.15.6 which I believe is the latest.

In general, if reloading mapping via the DVD doesn't work, I'd uninstall everything (mapping and mapsource) and start again.

If this doesn't work, you may have to edit the registry to delete mapsource entries (eek!)

The latest on this is although I reinstalled mapsource the 2010 maps couldn't be downloaded as Garmin deactivate your download after a few weeks, unlock codes are still listed but next to the download for the mapping it just says expired. Called Garmin UK who kindly reactivated my download for another couple of days. So now I've saved the 2010 mapping on a seperate drive so I won't have the same problem again. My advice is if you dowloaded the 2010 mapping from Garmin after receiving your new Zumo then have a look to see if you can get a copy again (if you haven't kept the original file)to keep in case everything goes tits up.

nothing to do with the 'unlock codes' but the maps themselves. Garmin say the files are too big to keep on the server indefinately so deactivate your download.
