Asking for sister , she has wanted something for some time . Budget of £20 thousand, maybe a bit more if she finds the right van. Her wants. Fixed bed , large sofas to relax . Decent bathroom. So thinking 3 to 5 berth. Plenty of light . I know some of you lot have Vans . Willing to travel, she can drive back. Or suggestions on what she might be better looking for and avoid . Many thanks.
Geno. Ps it’s the bank of Big brother paying the bill , please be gentle on me.

Will you be my big brother as well please ?

Is she a confident driver, fixed bed, large lounge with sofas and a decent size bathroom is going to need a large van to fit that in which can be a challenge and restrict places you can visit. £20k is not a big budget, maybe looking at a 15+ year old vehicle.

Sorry to report, you are not going to get much for that budget

Having just gone through this with the OH for the last 6 months - she either needs to up her budget or drop her expectations.
That internal size is going to be C1 AND well north of £20k for anything in good condition.
You’ll see plenty of marketplace for less but expect it to be very well used and poor resale.
Plenty more on Motorhome Depot, Autotrader, etc BUT remember there’s a brokers fee included in the pricing of £2-3k and little haggle room.
It also won’t be under 7 metres long either unless there is no garage.

I would suggest a B544 Hymer would probably fit the bill - a small A class. I have one. They are very good. You can get early ones for low teens. You may get a 2006 model for £20k or less. “Our Tour” YouTube blog use the same motorhome. Mine has been uprated to 4.1Te but many are less than 3.5Te. Good luck.

Good call, they seem to stand the test of time pretty well.

I've owned my 2000 hymer 544 for 11 years. Every winter since its taken me around the iberian peninsula.
All I do is change oil and filers annually and timing belt when due

My neighbour has a 3-axle Moho coming up for sale that could fit your requirements.

You would definitely need a C1 licence. I’ll get some details …
