Yep upon Doc’ recommendation, wife and I have stayed at Ralf’ place back in May, during the flood (🤦🏻‍♂️).
Excellent, clean, comfortable and modern self catering apartments with everything that you could need provided.
Although, like all self catering places I’ve stayed at, the kitchen knifes are duller than dullest thing it self. Not the proprietors fault, but I’d say that knives need to be checked at least once a month and sharpened or replaced accordingly. People do use knives like axes it seem.

Penny Markt (supermarket) is a mere 5 minute walk upstream as is a bakery. Town 20 minute brisk walk downstream or a solid 30 minute gentle stroll. Nice are for a week long holiday, with plenty of nice roads to ride and places to see/visit.

2.5 hours if pissed and you walk the wrong way.
The voice of experience.

Doc, the place we had the thick pea & sausage stew does Dunkel Hefeweizen though it now seems to be Erdinger and not whatever it was we had last time.

Its been there since 1904 apparently.

Can you tell I'm having a boring day? :)

An hour south, up-stream, is Traben-Trarbach.
Biggest wine cellars in Europe outside Bordeaux. 12c in there, they say.

Years ago I used to go to the wine cellars under Mainz, (Kupferberg Sekt)... F-freezing. Some built by the Romans.

Even more bored now? :D
