Coffee (Espresso)

Apparently, there is a way:
There’s a little moment in that video where he tweaks the tightness of filter holder. Given the amount of pressure he’s putting onto the aeropress I would say making sure the filter is secure is super important. And, that you are pressing down on a very strong cup.

All this fuss! Find a coffee, the taste of which you like, stick it in the upside down aeropress, pour in your hot (not boiling!) water. Screw on your filter. Leave a couple of minutes. Turn it right way up and press!

It took me longer to type this than it did to make my morning cup of Joe!

Those senses coffee pods bags or whatever they are. How much coffee do they hold? Just asking as I measured out how much coffee I put in my aeropress this morning. 3 of my scoops is about 22grams for a full press (ie up to the top) which I then top up with a bit of hot water in the mug for a mug full using the supplied mug with the Go version. That’s a strong but not desperately strong full mug using freshly ground Taylor’s Italian blend beans on a medium grind. If those bags only hold a small amount of coffee you would either need to double up or have a very small brew.

My tip for a good aeropress is not to hang around letting it steep. Coffee in, water off the boil in, stirring as it goes in. Press immediately. I get rather bitter coffee if I let it steep for even 30seconds.
Your water is too hot, need to let it cool to 80c (about 5 minutes if outside) then pour it and stir, then let it brew for 2 minutes before pressing.

Has to be right! :)
Anyway, I am using the Senseo pads, two at a time. I rip them open and pour the contents in the aeropress and proceed as you say.
Buying decent coffee here (ground) is difficult, but I find the selection of Senseo's does the job and I'm not lumbered with a kilo of coffee I don't like.

I've not tried them although they sound like a practical way of doing it on the bike. My method is to take a small tupperware box filled with enough for the trip.

I usually use Aldi Italian roast but Tschibo Sicilian is the berries. (y) I'll be bringing a few packs back from Germany to celebrate Scotland's victory! :augie
