Coffee (Espresso)

Its a toss up between the travel Aeropress and the Stanley Boil & Brew 32oz french press. Both can be had on amazon. In truth the Stanley gets more use on the road for camping when I'm with 3 friends or more. It doubles as a cook pot too. The nice thing about it is the press screen is all on piece. Works great as a colander as well. I end up brining both sometimes but one or more of the other guys usually has an Aeropress.

I do like decent coffee and for years I have used a twin-walled mug with a press/filter in it.
It has never made particularly good coffee and often the dregs at the bottom leak into the coffee.

I'm just about to buy a Wacaco espresso machine. It takes Nespresso type capsules.
Will make up to 60ml of coffee.
It does not heat the water, you have to add it.

WACACO Minipresso NS2 unless you have a better suggestion.
I don't want one of those stove top percolator things.
I bought one of those one cup french press things back in 2010 in South Africa. Had the same results. That is why it lives on the top shelf way in the back of the cupboard.

All this fuss! Find a coffee, the taste of which you like, stick it in the upside down aeropress, pour in your hot (not boiling!) water. Screw on your filter. Leave a couple of minutes. Turn it right way up and press!

It took me longer to type this than it did to make my morning cup of Joe!
I quite like the frothy coffee end cap thing for the Aeropress, saves having to do it all upside down and you get a bit of froth in the cup.

I have been experimenting and I'm using the Senseo Intense pads.
Empty the contents of 2 pads into the Aeropress, add the water (up to the 3.5 mark)and give it a stir and wait 1 min.
Nice, it is.

The pads are just a convenient way of hauling ground coffee, stored in an airtight container.
