Just had the bike (1150GS, 2000) back from the dealers, after a rather expensive electrical fault - all electrics seemed fine, bike would turn over, but never start. Was traced to a broken wire in the main loom.

A new problem has now developed:

When the bike has stood for several hours, it takes an absolute age to start - at least 20-30 seconds on the starter. Once it has caught, it will start first time, every time - until it is left for a few more hours. Once started, the bike runs fine.

Have just linked out the killswitch, as I'd been advised that this was iffy (and I'm not paying £112+VAT for a new one!), and this has made no difference.

Anyone have any ideas before it goes back to the shop?

cheers

Steve

Get up slightly earlier in the mornings :D

Hope you get it fixed soon........

Fuel pump losing or not generating enough pressure ?
Is there a non- return valve in the system that could be leaking ?
Gotta be fuel related , surely.

Spout :

Cheers, I needed a laugh - this bike is starting to depress me.

Motomartin:

I've been thinking the same thing. Maybe it isn't related to my previous electrical problem, and I've just bee unlucky to get two separate problems occur together.

Thanks both for your replies

Steve.
