Seeing as the banner at the top of the forums is bothering me about not having posted for a while I may as well add to the list of new bike threads.
Following a call earlier in the week from Bahnstormer to tell me that my bike had arrived a month ahead of schedule I picked my new 08 GSA (silver with everything except the enduro pack) up yesterday.
My previous bike was an 06 GS and, I have to say, I personally think the difference between the two bikes is huge. The new gearbox is miles better (apart from the lack of a positive stop on first which I commented on after my test ride). I can also safely say that I've warmed to the ESA having now had a day or so on the bike.
I was somewhat concerned about the height of the bike after the test ride and before picking the new one up, but my 30" inside leg manages to cope pretty well. I can only get one foot on the ground in any meaningful capacity, but so long as I pick the right foot to put down that's not really a problem. Incidentally, if anyone's worried about the height of the GSA, it doesn't feel any higher than my GS did with the seat on the high setting and the preload most of the way up.
All this means, of course, that my old bike is up for sale. I haven't created a thread for it yet, but if anyone's in the market for an 06 GS (14,250 miles; heated grips; ABS; top-box; tank-bag) give me a shout.

:whatthefeMy first 100 feet on a gravel road and the whole system packed up on my new 08 adventure after I tried the traction control. BMW Germany have said the bike needs a new ABS controller. It has been over two weeks now waiting for the parts to arrive from Germany.
