Ticked this ride in the summer. I've been meaning to post for a while but keep forgetting but thought I'd share a few pics of the ride described above.
Was it worth it? Yes.
Did I enjoy it? Yes.
Would I do it again. Probably not!
It's a beautiful ride, but the huge distances involved getting to even Fairbanks involved long days and variable weather.
On saying that, the wildlife and the sheer scale of the land are awesome.

That’s some trip!! Did you ride back to Denver?? 7k or so.
Great pictures 👍👍

Yes I rode back.
To give a sense of scale its about 6k to get to Fairbanks from Denver, although we did take the scenic route more than once.
Total milage was over 12k.

I always used to laugh at Americans with distances. They don’t measure in miles………just time. Eg 100 miles =an hour and a half, 5 miles is 10 minutes etc

I had started to set up that ride on my /5 back in the early 90s. As I checked and double checked the mileage and the weather at that time (Very rainy right after the Pinatubo eruption) I managed to talk myself out of it. Congrats for sticking with it. Nice trip.
What kind of tires are those and how did they do? Were they decent in loose stuff and mud? Did they last?

Great pictures fantastic ride.
I only had time for one of them. I picked the Dempster over the Dalton. I will have to go back and do the other. I took the Cassiar and Klondike N, Passed through Fairbanks Denali and took the Alaska Hwy S.
